What Others Are Saying
“Although I work and socialize downtown nearly every day, when I talk to visitors to my store I hear about a community that is fresh, vibrant, and cosmopolitan—but with small town charm and uniqueness. The flowers and plantings give downtown Wooster my favorite sparkle.”
“Wooster offers residents the neighborhood setting of a small town coupled with many modern, urban amenities. Wooster is one of the best kept secrets in Ohio. Buehler’s is proud to be part of and has been a mainstay in the downtown community since 1932. We have participated in the downtown’s resurgence of new businesses including fine dining, craft beer brewery, and unique retail shopping. We are committed to Wooster with three locations: Offices and warehouse and two stores. Most importantly, all of us at Buehler’s live, work, contribute to the community in many ways and have raised our families here going on four and a half generations.”
Having been a longtime resident of Wooster, it is gratifying to see the positive and significant changes in downtown Wooster. It is a pleasure to know of the many residents and visitors that are enjoying the downtown and what it has to offer. Our wonderful, state-of-the-art library, the many fine restaurants, the varied shops, the incredible living spaces, the traditional buildings and courthouse; all create a vibrant and sustainable downtown and heart of the community. Main Street Wooster began as an idea and, twenty-eight years later, has evolved into an ongoing process for downtown revitalization, capitalizing on a continuous public/private partnership of reinvestment. Main Street Wooster is a successful organization that helps to facilitate and implement projects and events for the downtown.
Downtown Wooster has been an incredible place for me, as a young entrepreneur, to live and start my first business. Main Street Wooster has successfully coordinated the efforts of the community, local businesses and local government to create incredible energy in this neighborhood.
It’s been an honor to serve the City of Wooster as a Main Street Wooster board member and to get a personal inside look at the passion, care and concern along with the hard work that goes into making downtown Wooster the great city it is today. “Truly Amazing”!
“I’m proud to be part of such the dynamic Downtown restaurant scene. Breakfast, lunch, coffee, snacking, cocktails, fine dining, Wooster has it all!”
“Roomscapes has been a Main Street Wooster member since opening in 2002. They have done so much for the downtown and have been great to work with over those years. I love when out of town visitors comment on how vibrant our downtown is and how their hometown could improve like Wooster and ask how this has happened. My answer is we have the strength of Main Street Wooster as a driving force and things happen! It is a beautiful downtown.”
I have been in Wooster full-time since 1983 after spending 2 years here in the early 70’s and working downtown in The Wm. Annat Company’s credit office. Friday nights and Saturdays were always busy! I have seen downtown become, once again, a vibrant hub that gives you diverse and unique dining and shopping experiences. Other than a trip out of town to The Rail a couple times, I truly cannot remember the last time I had to leave Wooster for something better!
