142 E. Liberty St.
The Urban Cottage opened in downtown Wooster in 2008. The owner, Dani Savage, was working at The College of Wooster in the Center for Entrepreneurship and submitted her business idea during a competition. After receiving funding from the Morgan & Kauffman Foundations, her dream became a reality. Originally located in a small shop on the square, Dani eventually left the college to run the store full time, & shortly thereafter moved to her larger space at 142 E. Liberty where Urban Cottage has been since December 2009.
Urban Cottage initially started as an upscale consignment furniture & home decor boutique, the business has grown to include fair trade, gift items and new home decor & furniture pieces. Urban Cottage strives to have what their customers are asking for and that is not always possible if you exclusively work with consignment inventory. In addition to upscale consignment pieces, they are excited to announce the addition of Magnolia Home furniture and accessories along with warehouse flooring & live edge tables.
