Church Walk, Pictures With Santa Scheduled for Dec. 2
Several downtown churches will open their doors on Dec. 2 to showcase their building, programs, history and music as part of the annual Downtown Churches Candlelight Walk from 6-8 p.m. Participating Churches include: First Baptist Church, N. Market St.: the city's oldest church building will be open and decorated for the holiday with Neil Jackson playing the historic Schantz pipe organ. Wooster United Methodist Church, 243 N. Market St.: Music will be played in the sanctuary throughout the evening and refreshments will be served. Central Christian Church. 407 N. Market St.: tours of the church and the ABLE facility will be given. Refreshments will be served. Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St.: Sanctuary will be decorated, with organ music being played and history of the church being given. Light refreshments will be available. St. James Episcopal Church, 201 N. Market St.: The evening will feature tours, luminaries and refreshments.
Trinity United Church of Christ, 150 E. North St.: There will be organ music, guitar music, historical guides, decorations and refreshments. Faith Harvest Fellowship, 116 E. South St.: How does a movie theater make the transition to a church building? Free movies are still shown in the building each Wednesday at 7, with drinks and popcorn available. See how it works.
Second Baptist Church, 245 S. Grant St.:
PLUS: The ninth annual Pictures with Santa will be held inside Liberty Street Commons 146 E. Liberty St. in downtown Wooster on Friday, December 2 from 5-7pm. Free events include Triway High School Art Club doing face painting and Girl Scout Troop 2293 helping children make a take home ornament along with a guessing game and treats. Pictures with Santa by Liberty Studios will be available for $5. The Faithful Little Cupcake will offer sugar cookie decorating with a suggested donation of $1. This will benefit for a local family.
