Howey Houses LLC is a project of Main Street Wooster Inc. involving the 400 and 500 blocks of North Buckeye Street, with the goal being to revitalize some of the older existing housing and return it to single-family housing, then market it for sale to the public.

Howey Houses LLC has been granted zero-percent loans totaling $400,000 for a period of two years through the following financial partners: The Apple Creek Banking Company, The Commercial & Savings Bank, First National Bank, FirstMerit Bank N.A.,The Huntington National Bank, Ohio Legacy Bank, Wayne Savings Community Bank and Western Reserve Bank.

Loan guaranty partners are: Stanley C. Gault, the Ralph & Grace B. Jones Foundation, the Donald & Alice Noble Foundation, the Seaman Family Foundation, the Wayne County Community Foundation and the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce

The banks and guarantors are truly the community heroes of this project. Thank you all and keep your eye on North Buckeye Street to watch the change.

PNC Bank has contributed a grant to purchase appliances for the homes.

This pilot project is designed to entice further private investment in the neighborhoods adjacent to downtown Wooster; iimprove stability and safety of an existing neighborhood; renovation of existing housing; economic development and business recruitment tool for downtown Wooster.
